Concordia Texas Summer Camps Help Students Build Skills and Confidence

Summer at Concordia University Texas is about helping young students grow in confidence, discover new interests, and develop practical skills for the future.
This year’s Concordia Texas summer camps offer students hands-on learning experiences in areas like artificial intelligence, digital literacy, finance, music, organization and planning, stress management, and sports. Hosted on Concordia’s scenic Austin campus surrounded by nature and dedicated learning spaces, the camps provide high school students with opportunities to learn alongside expert faculty in a welcoming, supportive, and safety-conscious environment where families can feel confident as students explore new interests and build lifelong skills.
In addition to these academic and enrichment opportunities, Concordia also continues its tradition of athletic summer camps, giving students opportunities to develop teamwork, leadership, and athletic skills while staying active and connected throughout the summer months.
According to Dr. Cindy Melendez, Concordia’s camps were created with today’s students in mind.
“As we’re seeing our students come to us at the college level, we’re noticing that there are some skills that may be helpful as they transition into higher education,” Melendez shared during a recent Austin television interview. “Many of these camps target skills that can really be developed as young as 15 or 16.”
All of the camps help students experience college life in a meaningful and approachable way. Campers spend time on campus, collaborate with peers, and build confidence in a university setting while still having fun throughout the summer.
“We want students to walk away with something tangible,” Melendez explained. “But we also want them to create memories, have fun, and build confidence.”
Concordia Texas Summer Camps continue the university’s commitment to preparing students for success both inside and outside the classroom through hands-on learning, mentorship, and community connection.
