Faithfully Forward Together

In 2026, Concordia University Texas celebrates 100 years of Christ‑centered education. What began in 1926 as a Lutheran school preparing church workers has grown into a vibrant university serving students from across Texas, the nation, and the world.

For a century, Concordia Texas has prepared students to lead lives of purpose, service, and faith. As we celebrate this milestone, we look back with gratitude and step forward with confidence — Faithfully Forward Together into the next 100 years.

With God We Shall Do Valiantly

"With God We Shall Do Valiantly" comes from Psalm 108:13, the Scripture that helped shape the founding vision of Concordia Texas.

It reminds the Concordia Texas community that our strength comes not from human effort alone, but from trust in God’s guidance and provision. For a century, this truth has sustained the university through growth and change—and it continues to guide us into the next century.

Together We Stand in Faith

The Cruciform stands as one of the most recognizable symbols on the Concordia Texas campus.

More than a landmark, it represents the heart of the university’s mission—a Christ‑centered education that forms both mind and spirit.

Designed during the presidency of Rev. Dr. Ray Martens, the Cruciform reflects Concordia Texas’s enduring commitment to faith, learning, and service. For students who pass it each day, it is a reminder that their education is rooted in something deeper: a calling to serve the world with faith and courage.

Together We Lead

For 100 years, Concordia Texas has been shaped by the people who learn, teach, serve, and lead here.

Throughout the Centennial year, we will highlight stories from the Concordia Texas community—students discovering their calling, alumni making an impact in their fields, and faculty shaping the next generation of leaders.

Together We Cross the Bridge

Students crossing the bridge on campus

The bridge across the Concordia Texas nature preserve is one of the campus’s most recognizable landmarks.

Each fall, new students begin their journey with the Bridging Ceremony, crossing together as a symbol of a new chapter of learning, faith, and community.

By graduation, the same bridge becomes a favorite photo spot, a full‑circle moment marking how far they have come.

For many Tornados, it represents transformation, from possibility to purpose.

During the Centennial, the bridge reminds us that we move forward together, connected by our past, our present, and the future God is calling us to build.
